Marathon Sensors Inc. offers
the Heat Treating and Process & Utility industries a wide variety
of products. Customers look upon Marathon as an important source
of technological expertise and equipment to meet the existing and
future requirements of demanding furnace applications.
Product Line Description:
Carbon Control for Heat Treating:
Carbon Sensors / Probes:
The AACC, Carbonseer, UltraProbe II, and Piccolo probes monitor
heat treat atmosphere oxygen levels and provide the user with a
"carbon potential" or "dewpoint" based on proprietary algorithms.
Instrumentation: The MultiPro,
DualPro, CarbPro, CarbPC, 10Pro and VersaPro instruments control
and monitor all phases of the heat treat process. Extractive
Sensing and Controls: The
Sentinel-ESTM, Sentinel-ESi, Sentinel-FCP provide state-of-the-art
extractive sensing and control allowing older furnaces to be cost-effectively
updated to today's demanding quality standards. .
Are you tired of slow recovery after
probe burn-off, frustrated by thermal-shock failures of probes in
your pit furnaces or angry that your "rebuildable" probe really
can only be rebuilt a single time or doesn't last very long when
it is? At Marathon we know that one tool cannot perform every job.
Some probes work well in pits, others suffer thermal shock failure
between loads. Some use costly components that can be rebuilt time-after-time,
while less expensive probes simply don't last. As a result we offer
carbon probes that are tailored to your specific needs. From the
world renown Advance Atmosphere (AACC) to the rapid-recovery Ultraprobe
II, our probes - like all real tools - are optimized so that they
provide the best solution to your problems because in the real world
one size does not fit all.
Carbonseer
The industry's most popular, work-horse
carbon probe. Alloy protection tube for versatility and ruggedness.
Accepted as an industry standard, around the world.
- Available in multiple insertion
lengths up to 47" (1200mm)
- 1.05" diameter, schd. 40 sheath to eliminate probe sag problems
- no need to periodically rotate the probe in order to prevent failure
- Can be inserted up to 10" inside the furnace - no 4" limit as
found on smaller diameter products
- "Nearly New" rebuild service includes new substrate (sensitive
element) and new thermocouple and is backed by a comprehensive 12-month
warranty
- Can be rebuilt multiple times, not just once as with inferior
probes
- High temp alloy sheath
- "K", "R", and "S" integral thermocouples are available
- Efficient probe burn-off and rapid recovery time
- Probe electrical disconnect allows for simple replacement
- Strain-relief grommet for direct-to-terminal wiring

Piccolo Probe
A Marathon Sensors exclusive, designed for use with Endothermic
Atmosphere Generators, the Piccolo Probe replace the "probe/reheat
well" combination offered by other vendors. The Piccolo Probe
also allows the sampling of multiple generator retorts. Additionally,
the Piccolo Probe has proved successful in several other processes
(i.e. sintering and annealing), and can use gas rather than
air as a reference gas. |
